Name: Charlie Hardman

After working in publishing for 7 years I took a break from work to start a family and now both my girl are at school I work in child care so I can fit work around my family.

Where do you live and who do you live with? I live in Odd Down in Bath, with my husband Josh, my girls, Marley and Kiki and our Frenchie Kingston.

When did you first move to Bath and why?

I moved to Bath 16 years ago for Uni.

What inspires you about Bath?

On a sunny day the architecture is just amazing, I often wonder around thinking about all the events and lives which would have graced our city, I also love the sense of community this city has to offer. There is always something going on so you can never be bored!

You need coffee, where do you go?

I love going to the Forum or Cascara. Both have excellent coffee and cakes!

You need something stronger, which bar do you prop up?

I love the cocktails and lively atmosphere at Turtle bay. For somewhere more chilled I’d head to the Raven.

The babysitter’s booked, what’s your ideal night out in the city?

It would start with food and the maybe end up in the garden of the Earl with a Shisha putting the world to rights over some rum!

Where’s your favourite place to go with the family on a sunny day?

I love walking along the canal, it reminds me of being a kid and visiting my grandmother in Richmond. We get on the canal path at Widcome, where we watch the canal boats going through the locks and then walk along to Sydney Gardens to the play park.

And on a rainy day?

We usually go swimming and then for hot chocolates

You’ve got an afternoon to go shopping, where do you splash the cash?

I never seem to spend money on myself any more, I’m usually in Gap kids or H&M buying something for the girls. If I do need a little treat I head to Lush.

Tell us a secret… I love Spotty Herberts on Queen Street, an amazing little treasure trove for all things quirky for the kids!
