Name: Sarah the Cafe Academic

Personal description: Social creative, sporadic blogger, and first-time mum.

Where do you live and who do you live with?

4 years in Bath. Me, hubby Sam and baby Barnaby.

When did you first move to Bath and why?

Coffee! Colonna and Smalls is internationally recognised as one of the best coffee shops in Europe don’t you know…?! My other half works in speciality coffee so when we wanted to move from London, the next destination was a no-brainer.

What inspires you about Bath?

The creativity and the thirst for collaboration. Independent businesses in the city are some of the best in Somerset for working together to create something special. You can’t beat those beautiful buildings either!

You need coffee, where do you go?

Colonna and Smalls, Society, Picnic

You need something stronger, which bar do you prop up?

It’s a toss up between Corkage or the Dark Horse. Vino Vino for a girly catch-up.

The babysitter’s booked, what’s your ideal night out in the city?

It would have to be a supper club at Noya’s Kitchen, her food and friendly welcome feels like home from home.

Where’s your favourite place to go with the family on a sunny day?

The Royal Crescent! Picnic and a frisbee, easy.

And on a rainy day?

Coffee shops and Walcot Street. Rain is the perfect excuse to hop from one indie to another on that road.

You’ve got an afternoon to go shopping, where do you splash the cash?

Tell us a secret

Long walks through the two tunnels from Bear Flat to Midford have stunning views on a sunny day. There’s a pub at either end which is also a bonus!
