Staying active as a family is one of the best bonding activities there is. Not only does it instill the values of keeping physically active, it also allows you and your children to get to know a different side of your area together. Summer and autumn are the best seasons for fitness and being outdoors because of the beautiful changing landscapes you will get to witness firsthand. Aside from getting the blood pumping through fun activities, being outside is a benefit in itself. Laura Hilton reminds us that the best source of vitamin D is from being out in the sun. Vitamin D ensures our bones stay healthy and our immune system functions properly. If this doesn’t motivate your family to join in on the fun, we’ve rounded up the top fitness events happening in Bath and Bristol this summer and autumn that your family can enjoy.

The run isn’t timed so there’s no pressure to reach the finish line at a certain time. The enjoyment is in spending a day being active with your loved ones. Moreover, the course is pushchair and wheelchair friendly so every member of the family can join in on the fun.

Not to mention that sense of elation that comes when you finally cross the finish line.
