When we’re lucky enough to get some sunny sunshine in our gorgeous city, here’s where we like to head to cool off….
The Kennet and Avon Canal
Hire a boat and cool your toes in our amazing Kennet & Avon Canal! We’re regular visitors to the Bath Narrowboats station at Brassknocker Hill. Grab a delicious Marshfield ice cream from the Angelfish restaurant (or further upstream you’ll find the Dawdling Dairy, a floating barge boat cafe!), hire yourself a canoe, and away you go!
The River Avon
Our top spots for wild swimming are:
You can also hire boats on the river. We’d recommend Bath Boating which is right in central Bath!
We love Sandpits Park in Oldfield Park (55 Monksdale Rd, Bath BA2 2JB)! It’s got all your usual playground entertainment (big slide, swings, climbing frames) but also a lovely, big sandpit AND a little stream running right the way through it! Our little Kids of Bath absolutely love splashing around in it on hot days (would recommend keeping sandals on though, the bottom’s a bit slippy!)!
Our faves are…
- Portishead Open Air Pool
- Greenbank Heated Outdoor Pool
- Shepton Mallet Lido
- And opening VERY soon (in the summer of 2019), the brand new Boomerang Splash in Melksham.
- Although none of the above are in central Bath, we will have our VERY OWN outdoor pool soon!! Cleveland Pools is set to open by the end of 2019, absolutely can’t wait!
Did you know, Weston Super Mare is only 30 minutes direct on the train from Bath Spa station? Ride a donkey, play arcades on the pier, swim in the sea! A proper British seasidey day out!
We also love Cotswold Country Park and Beach with it’s inflatables and fab inland beach! Well worth the drive!
Hope that helps you to cool off this Summer! Let us know if we’ve missed anything via email@example.com. Thank you!!
