My name is Georgie Bassford and I’ve lived with my husband and three children in Bath since 2003 and taught yoga here since 2004.
I don’t teach a specific style of yoga, although over the years I’ve developed specialisms in pregnancy, postnatal yoga and women’s health, as well as yin yoga. I bring to my classes whatever new ideas I’m learning, share my inspirations and try new things. And I am still learning. Of course!

It’s very important to me honest and authentic, to keep studying the ancient wisdom as well as the latest understanding about the mind and body and to bring this to my classes. I particularly am inspired by the work of people Gary Carter of Natural Bodies, a world authority in the field of fascia and myofascial (muscle) within a yoga context and am always love anyything by Katy Bowman of Nutritious Movement. I also regularly attend in-person workshops and online trainings, which you can see below.
Yoga is not a religion. It’s not a panacea. But it has the potential to be life changing, moving you in the direction of good health and happiness. Yoga can be fun or serious. fast-paced or slow, intense or relaxing, solitary or companiable, and much more besides. You know your mind and body better than anyone else and in my classes you’re encouraged to be your own teacher, listening to your instincts so you get the most out of every class and leave feeling uplifted, happier and healthier than when you walked in!

2 Argyle Street
Our men’s yoga class is a term-time only class taught be Jan Lunt of Jan Jan Yoga and is a traditional style of Yoga, which focuses on stretching the whole of the body and working with the breath throughout each movement. Jan gives plenty of instruction and alignment to help you with each pose/posture and there are plenty of adaptations and props to help.
The class is suitable for all levels whereby the aim is for students to experience a physical challenge, which stretches the whole body. You should also leave feeling some what relaxed, as there is always a 5 minute relaxation at the end of the class. Jan’s style is light-hearted and fun!
All the mats and equipment are provided so you just need to come wearing comfy sports clothes. The class takes place downstairs at John Moore Sports on Argyle Street.

Robyn’s Yoga was started by Robyn Blackmore who has a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga .
Since moving to Bath Robyn has become more and more passionate about Yoga, she has benefited from Yoga in many ways and is excited to help other benefit from it too. Robyn has a fun and welcoming approach to teaching an makes sure everyone get all the benefits from yoga without taking themselves too seriously!
Robyn’s Yoga will offer private 1-2-1 session as well as regular group classes in various location across the Bath area.
Yoga can improve flexibility, muscle strength, posture, respiration, metabolism as well as increase energy level and vitality. It can also help with weight loss….. why wouldn’t you give it a go?

I am currently studying in my second year at Norland College to become a nanny and so childcare and children’s well-being is something that I am very passionate about. Movement has always been a large part of my life as I began training with the royal ballet at a young age and went on to train at a vocational level till the age of 18. This training has been an amazing base for me to build upon my yoga skills. I have now achieved my rainbow yoga teaching certificate, accredited by the highly renowned yoga alliance. Yoga is a great way for children to foster better health, learn techniques to alleviate stress and anxiety and a beautiful moment to bond together! My sessions are welcoming and fun and our longer introductory session will enable me to adapt my sessions so that they are the best for you and your child/children. Emma has worked with children all her life and with her love of yoga brought the two together. Emma is a Hatha yoga teacher, a rainbow kids teacher and has qualified with Special Yoga For Special Children. She works with adults and children – particularly in “yoga out of the studio’ for those who may find it difficult to access yoga in the studio for whatever reason.
