Emma, co-owner of Grace & Ted is one of Bath’s TOP fashion gurus. Here she’s picked her fave winter wears from a selection of our city’s beautiful boutiques. We neeeed those boots…

Shopping for a Winter wardrobe is ten times more enjoyable than shopping for a Summer one, isn’t it? I am all about chunky boots, cashmere, woollies and the annual hunt for the perfect coat (still haven’t found it yet, FYI)

There’s no shortage of mainstream brands on Bath’s high street and Topshop, H&M and Antropologie are great in their own ways, but it’s our city’s independent fashion boutiques that hold the real treasure…

In this blog, I’ve picked out some of my favourite pieces from a few of Bath’s best indie shops that will slip effortlessly into your wardrobe and remain faithful to you for Winter’s to come.

Blue @ The Loft

Combat and biker style boots are in fashion every Autumn and Winter. Like, every single year; which means it’s worth investing in a quality pair. Great for stomping around Bath’s streets (because lets face it, as much as heeled boots are beautiful, them cobbles ain’t our friends…) they can be tucked into jeans or used to add a bit of edge to a skirt or dress.

These Lofina boots are designed in Denmark but made in Italy so unique and striking design combines with expert craftsmanship and quality leather to create the boot that will last and last.

I love the laces on this pair and love even more that there is a side zip so you don’t have to undo them each time!

Grace & Mabel

The brand Baum Und Pferdgarten was established in Copenhagen by two super cool women who know how to create playful, bold pieces that flatter women. If your Winter wardrobe is lacking in colour and joy then this aptly named ‘Merry’ shirt is the perfect remedy!

A fitted shape means it will definitely not make you look 2 sizes bigger than you are and there are even matching trousers available to anyone who dares to absolutely rock a matching two-piece (they are awesome.)

Wear it casually with jeans and trainers or tuck it into a high waisted skirt paired with heels – this one is versatile, cute and bound to put a smile on your face.

Sisi & May

For ultimate softness and quality that means no piling or bobbling, it’s worth investing in good cashmere. Cocoa Cashmere use only the best hair combed from their own free ranging goats who live happily in Inner Mongolia – these guys never fail to provide laid back luxury.

Cosy up and stay warm in the most bitter of Winter weather in this Cocoa Cashmere star jumper. 100% cashmere, it’ll look great over a shirt or layered up under your coat.

Ideal for adding some fun to the dullest of January days, I love that the stars continue onto the back but in PINK!

Square

Alongside wool, cashmere, and leather – velvet is another of my favourite fabrics to indulge in during the Winter. Take that luxury all the way to your feet in these Golden Goose trainers – available at Square – the cornerstone of Bath’s chic high street.

With a naturally distressed finish that means you won’t be afraid to actually wear them, Golden Goose trainers are unbelievably comfortable and long lasting. They may be pricey to begin with, but after years of unconditional love, ‘cost per wear’ will be so low you’ll definitely be able to justify buying another pair.

£325 at Square – available in store

Found

Because a new season calls for new accessories, you should head to Found and bag these super duper hoops by Machete. Made from natural and renewable Tortoiseshell acetate, not only are these earrings timelessly stylish, they’re eco friendly!

Super lightweight and easy to wear, I love the autumnal tones of Tortoiseshell that will add warmth to the coldest days.

Wear them for work or play, with your hair up to really show them off.

Grace & Ted

We’ve discussed luxurious fabrics and the importance of being cosy during the chilly season and in my opinion, a statement faux fur coat is a winter wardrobe staple.

Urbancode is a London based brand that prides itself on fashion forward design and quality craftsmanship. The only kind of fur I want in my wardrobe, this two tone faux beauty is so soft you won’t want to take it off!

Wear it with skinny jeans and chunky boots (maybe those Lofina’s we started with?) and enjoy cold days in comfort wandering around our gorgeous city.

£180 at Grace & Ted (one available, size 12) here: https://graceandted.co.uk/shop/urbancode-two-tone-faux-fur-coat-uk-12/

If you treat yourself to one (or two) of the items above or spot the perfect Winter wardobe addition in one of Bath’s indie boutiques – I wanna see! Share it with me on Instagram: @graceandted.
