Once again, the gorgeous Sal from Mindful Kin drops us a really simple mindfulness craft and exercise to do with the little ones…

This is great for helping children to become calm when they’re feeling worried, anxious or frustrated. Here’s how!

  • Whisk one part clear craft glue and three parts hot water, plus glitter (biodegradable if possible) and pour into a bottle.
  • Shake it up and compare this with how our minds feel when we are worried, cross, frustrated and so on.
  • Watch the glitter slowly fall whilst practising slow, deep breathing.
  • Explain that when we focus on our breathing our minds become calm like the glitter settling gently on the bottom of the bottle.

Encourage your child to use their mind bottle whenever they need help dealing with a challenging emotion.
