This week the oh so lovely Alice from Bluebells of Bath shares with us some secrets for sprucing up the kids rooms…

So spring is nearly upon us (yay!). We can start spending more time outdoors but what about the boring Spring clean? As an adult I use the “spring clean” as an excuse to not only get everything out from the depth of the back of cupboards but to treat my house to a few new interior bits. Ok, Ok, I actually do this all year round! The spring clean is a perfect way to get the kids doing the same thing in their own domain. As a child my room was always a mess of which I liked to call organised (still rings true) but I did love to rearrange my furniture, toys and ornaments, in fact I took great pleasure in it! If your child likes to do the same thing (hopefully without the messy room) I’ve put together Bluebells latest kids decor ideas.

For the floor:

Add some colour to the floor with these Sass and Belle rugs. Choose from the Happy Whale, Betty the unicorn or the  Happy Avocado.

Rugs: £13 each.

For the wall:

Kids will have fun putting this tassel garland together (i know I did) and choosing where to hang it. It would look fab as a backdrop along a plain wall or perhaps marking the entrance to a den? Or perhaps you’d like to light up a den with these cute cloud fairy lights? Clouds are the in thing at the mo so they’d be perfect for any age; in a babies nursery through to an older child’s room. If you want something a bit more practical you could opt for the Happy Cactus hook to hang up coats, scarves or even jewellery. If you know a unicorn fan you could make their day with this fab glitzy sign.

Tassel garland kit: £5.99

Cloud fairy lights: £10

Happy cactus hook: £5

Unicorn glitter sign: £8

For a shelf:

Save the pennies with these adventure money boxes, theres the dog in a rocket, monkey and treasure chest or the castle. If your kid fancy’s something a bit more sparkly you could opt for the unicorn fund money box. If you’ve got a llama fan, you could opt for these fun llama ornaments which come in three different colours.

Adventure money boxes: £5.99 each (were £9.99).

Unicorn fund money box: £15

Llama ornaments: £8.99

For the bedside table:

The bedside table is a great place to start if your child wants to start rearranging their room. Store away bits and bobs or jewellery in the unicorn pots or use trinket dishes such as the Sass and Belle rainbow and elephant trinket dishes. For watermark free surfaces opt for a fun coaster such as these unicorn sayings. If your child is a keen photographer, they could frame their masterpieces in a bright photo frame such as the vintage map frame.

Unicorn trinket pot: £3.99 each

Rainbow trinket dish: £8.50

Mandala elephant trinket dish: £9.99

Unicorn coasters: £2.50 each

Vintage Map photo frame: £6.50

For the bed/chair:

We all love cushions! Its so easy to transform a room with just a few. These fun colourful pom pom round cushions would look great propped up on a chair or on a bed.  After our Avocado cushion did so well, in its place is now the Rainbow Unicorn cushion (don’t despair, more avocado items will be on their way). For those fancy flamingo’s, the flamingo cushion may be the way to go with a fabulous flamingo against a starry white background. For those that may want something a bit more grown-up we have the double sided Pineapple cushion bringing in those tropical vibes.

Pom pom cushion: £14

Rainbown unicorn cushion: £20

Flamingo cushion: £12

Pineapple cushion: £15
