Gorgeous Emma from Grace & Ted is a huge Halloween fan! She knows exactly where to head to get the spooky party started….

Whether you’re planning a spooktacular house party, a quiet night in with Chucky, Hannibal and Jason or are heading into Bath for a night dressed as your alter-ego — Halloween is an excuse to have fun and eat all the sugary/bad for you stuff.

My second favourite “holiday” after Christmas, I thought I’d share with you some of the little Bath businesses who can help make your ‘All Hallows Eve’ celebrations even better than last year…

Independent Spirit of Bath

If you’re throwing a party, it’s imperative you keep your guests hydrated…for those of you looking for a stronger tipple than a Robinson’s squash, head to Independent Spirit on Terrace Walk (opposite Parade Gardens)…

Choose from a huge selection of craft beers, wines and spirits and stock up on the most delicious adult beverages or embrace the ghoulish theme and go all out with skull shaped shot glasses, the intriguingly named ‘Dragon Tears’ whiskey or (my favourite) KAH Tequila; served in the coolest ceramic decorated skull. Bound to have you labelled as the host or hostess with the mostest.

The San Francisco Fudge Factory

If you’re planning a more family friendly affair or simply want to satisfy your guests’ sweet tooth, you definitely need to visit The Fudge Factory in Abbey Green.

Originating from San Francisco, owner Maureen loves Halloween and my goodness does she know how to celebrate it! Adorning her shop with Jack-O-Lanterns, fairy lights and filling her shelves with scarily tasty treats, stop outside this little shop on the corner of Abbey Green and grab a hot chocolate, caramel apple or a chunk of handmade fudge.

This year, on Wednesday 31st October – if you or your little ones are dressed up and shout “trick or treat” at the guys at The Fudge Factory you’ll earn yourself a free gift! It’s for one day only though so don’t miss your chance for a sweet and buttery Halloween…

Rosie’s Accessories

Your one-stop-shop for any fancy dress – Rosie’s Accessories on Westgate Street (previously Just Beauty) is an emporium of costumes, face paints, wigs, make up and anything else you’ll need to transform into your favourite character.

What’s best about this place (besides the absolutely bargain prices) is the staff. Tell them what you’re dressing up as and they’ll help you with everything from your hair spray to your stick on witches fingers. I love shop assistants that get genuinely excited to help you and in the past these ladies have been so invested in my costume they’ve asked me to go back to show them on my way “out out” on Halloween night! That’s not something you’re likely to find in a boring old chain store…
